For the whole of June I am challenging myself to draw as many endangered animals as possible in the hopes of raising both awareness and funding for the incredible World Wildlife Fund (WWF) who are the leading organization in wildlife conservation and endangered species.
The largest bear in the world and the Arctic's top predator, polar bears are a powerful symbol of the strength and endurance of the Arctic.
Climate change, and the loss of sea ice habitat, is the greatest threat to polar bears. The impacts of this change are felt first and worst in the Arctic and because of this the polar bear is classified as a vulnerable species.
The survival and the protection of the polar bear habitat are urgent issues for WWF. The good news is that five populations are stable while two have been experiencing an upward trend.
